Alright, well, lately I've needed BP so I can teach my Espeon Signal Beam. But, the thing is, 48 BP is a lot in that game, and it's kind of hard to achieve. I thought, "Hey, battling Palmer should give me a lot of BP!" So, I went in, and I got up to a 21-streak, on my 21st, Palmer came out, and he challenged me. I thought my Kingdra had enough Def/Sp.D to withstand one dragon move by his Dragonite, so I attempted to set up Rain Dance. This would double Kingdras speed and make me attack first with a Draco Meteor, destroying his Dragonite. Well, Dragon Claw OHKO'd my Kingdra, and all I had left were Breloom and Togekiss. Dragonite OHKO'd everything except my Togekiss. I still lost in 3 turns after breloom died. I was angrier than I've ever been at this game. My kingdra was OHKO'ing everything up to Palmer, and then he just died. I was so angry D:

Fought against a Crawdaunt who used Swords Dance and then Night Slash/Crabhammer to OHKO everything on my team. I even had Trick Room in effect, but of course it had a Quick Claw held and went first two times in a row. Only thing that's been able to beat me every single time.

I'm at Palmer in my SS game, waiting for a new tripod so I can record it. I'll probably title it "Pokemon HG/SS Palmer match FAIL."

I'll probably have a few in the near future: I'm about to hit the Frontier as well with a new team. Shame that the Rotom formes don't work there though... They don't work anywhere that will give you a decent battle, except for maybe the Gym Leader rematch (haven't tried it yet).

Well, i recall a few months ago, i had beaten Palmer and was on my second battle after cutting it close in the first battle.Raticate came out,and i thought 'this looks easy',but i was underestimating what it was about to pull from below the curtains. Super fang halved my pokemon's hp(can't remember the team)and i thought 'hmm... not great'. but, it then used hyper fang and i was one down.Then, he repeated the same for my other two. end of epic streak.

GameFreak makes them tough to loose and then try again and focus to Pokemon and buy every game ect.
Like on LGFR when battling Blue he put like 6 Full Restores on his Arcanire I remember.

The gameplay is by no means a marketing scheme. It's all just to keep you happy with the game. Let's face it, you want a challenge, you don't want something you'll beat in a day.
